About Us

The Church of Tyre is a community that takes Jesus seriously and takes people as they come. We formed out of a simple conviction: faith should bring freedom, healing, and purpose, not pressure or fear. Our life together centers on worship, Scripture, and loving people well.

We hold to a Reformed foundation that keeps God’s grace at the center of everything. We honor the seventh-day rhythm of rest as a gift from God. And we embrace a Pentecostal openness to the Spirit’s power, comfort, and guidance. These threads come together in a way that’s thoughtful, Spirit-filled, and deeply focused on Christ.

We follow Jesus’ own teaching as the heart of Christian life. He calls us away from empty rule-keeping and into a living relationship with God, so we don’t bind people with Old Testament laws Christ fulfilled. As Hebrews teaches, the old covenant has passed; we walk in the new one He established.

Our doors and our table are open to everyone because all people are made in the image of God. We affirm the full dignity, worth, and belonging of LGBTQ+ people. We practice adult baptism as a conscious commitment to follow Jesus, and we celebrate communion as a moment of grace, not a reward for perfection.

We gather each week to worship, pray, learn, rest, and serve. Some of our people grew up in church and some didn’t. Some are certain, some are searching. All of us are learning to trust God more deeply and to carry the love of Christ into the world around us.

If you’re looking for a place that blends depth with joy, Scripture with Spirit, and tradition with freedom, we’d love to get to know you. The Church of Tyre is still growing into the calling God has given us, and there’s room for your gifts and your story here.
